ORIENTATION PROGRAMME OF FIRST YEAR STUDENTS, 2020/2021 ACADEMIC YEAR- CAE, CAVS, CBPS, CEES, CHS, CHSS & ODeL
The University of Nairobi wishes to take this early opportunity to congratulate and welcome all the students who have been selected for the various degree programmes at the premier university, the University of Nairobi. Click to Download Orientation Program: 31st August -4th September 2020.
Students are invited to a virtual address Monday, 31st August 2020 at 9 am on the Microsoft Teams video conference platform. The Deputy Vice Chancellor's Academic Affairs, Prof. Julius Ogeng'o, the Academic Registrar, Mr. Humphrey Webuye and Director ICT, Mr. Paul Kariuki will be making keynote presentations during the event. Students joining the University are encouraged to attend this live event as key information will be shared during student address.
To join the event:
Ensure you have internet access and laptop/desktop or smartphone.
Install Microsoft teams meeting application or alternatively join via any internet browser i.e chrome, opera Firefox, and safari.
You can participate during this live session by posting questions on the platform using the Q&A chat facility

In order to give each one of you time to settle down and adjust to the (new) life with ease, the University of Nairobi has dedicated one week of orientation into the various aspects that would form part of your lifestyle for the period of stay at the university.
The orientation of new students joining the University is done in order to,inter alia:-
- Acquaint the students with the University policies and procedures.
- Help the students adjust to the new life at the University
- Introduce the students to Senior Officials of the University
- Familiarize the students with the facilities and amenities available in the University, which include but not limited to:-
a) Academic facilities such as; Libraries, Lecture Theatres, Laboratories, Bookstore etc.
b) Welfare facilities such as medical, counseling, accommodation, catering and games
c) Social activities, clubs and societies
The orientation will be to a large extent college-based. Thus, students will be exposed in detail to the facilities in their respective colleges and campuses, and in general to those of the entire University.
